Meet the family who are obsessed with Halloween and spend weeks creating incredible handmade costumes every year.

Adrienne St. Laurent, 39, and her husband Andy, 40, have had a passion for Halloween since they were high-school sweethearts in the '90s.

The couple, who met aged 15, have passed on their love of all things spooky to kids Tate, 11 and Adelyn, 14.

In 2015, they made a name for themselves at a local Halloween parade with their debut Addams Family costume - and have gone all out every year since.

Adrienne crafts each costume completely from scratch and dresses the entire family for less than $50.

The stay-at-home mom finds lots of materials in thrift shops, and uses papier-mâché, poster board, wire hangers, felt and lots of hot glue to bring her creations to life.

Known to their neighbors as 'that Halloween family,' in 2016 they dressed as characters from Beetlejuice and took home the prize for best costume at the parade.

They won the same contest in 2018 dressed as characters from The Jetsons, and in 2019 with costumes based on the musical Little Shop of Horrors.

The family has also dressed up as The Simpsons.

Adrienne, from Indianapolis, Indiana, said: "We've loved Halloween ever since we were teenagers, but we never planned to make it such a big deal in our family.

"When Tate was four, I was doing laundry and I realized one of his shirts looked like Pugsley’s shirt from the Addams Family.

"I thought it would be fun to all dress up like Addams Family characters for that upcoming Halloween and things just took off from there.

"We went to Irvington Halloween Festival and everyone was stopping us in the street saying how much they loved our costumes.

"When I told people I'd made them from scratch they were even more impressed, so we decided to go again next year dressed as something different."

This year they're planning to pull out all the stops for the return of the parade post-Covid, but Adrienne is expecting this to be her family's last Halloween affair.

"We've got some amazing family memories from the past six years, but the kids are getting to that age where they're starting to lose faith with it," she said.

"My daughter was in second grade when we started and now she’s a freshman in high school so things do feel like they're coming to a natural end.

"We're planning to go big this year for what could be our epic finale, and we can't wait to show everyone what we've come up with."
