Trick in treat: Boy shocked to discover brussel sprout in Ferrero Rocher chocolate wrapper

A trick or treater was left disappointed after unwrapping a brussel sprout disguised as a Ferrero Rocher - with the word 'trick' hidden inside.

Ralph Smith, six, was out trick or treating with his family on Halloween when someone put a Ferrero Rocher in his pot.

The schoolboy thought he'd struck gold, and as soon as he got home, excitedly started sifting through his takings for the evening.

But, things weren't exactly as they seemed, and after unwrapping the highly anticipated chocolate he got a nasty surprise.

A crafty neighbor had disguised a Brussel sprout in Rocher wrapping with the word 'trick' scrunched up on a small piece of paper inside.

Ralph's older brother Dan Smith, 16, was there to witness his sibling's disappointment at unwrapping a vegetable but says Ralph was able to see the funny side of it.

Dan, from Watford, Hertfordshire, said: "Although my brother was visibly disappointed, for a little kid, he handled the situation well.

"I guess whoever gave it to him decided to have some fun of their own this Halloween, and, to be fair to them, their trick worked a treat!"
