Mexico City held a Day of the Dead parade on Sunday (October 31) in the city's downtown.

During the three-hour parade, floats featuring skeletons, Aztec culture and other themes passed by one by one. Dancers in traditional costumes joined the parade on its 5 and a half mile ( 9 kilometers) long route.

"Of course, I think this parade will also encourage us to be good citizens and continue to be proud of Mexico, because there is no other country like Mexico (that memorizes the dead positively)," said citizen Rosario Pena.

Citizen Daniel Delgado added: "Everything is recovering, while everything was stalled before. I'm glad that this kind of activity is starting to come back."

It is known that the Day of the Dead is one of the most ceremonious and unique festivals in Mexico.

It was created by Spanish settlers who combined Western Halloween traditions with indigenous customs.
