Elderly care home residents were cheered up with a visit - from some pygmy GOATS.

The baby goats have captured the hearts of care home residents during a festive visit - with some asking to keep them as Christmas presents.

Some goats - just three weeks old - were wrapped up in tiny blankets to keep them warm during their visit last week in Bocking, Essex.

The care home residents loved the goats so much that some even said they wanted to keep the cute animals as Christmas presents.

Joan Green, 95, said: “They are wonderful, they were so warm and cuddly.

“I wanted to keep one, I would love one for Christmas!”

Kathleen Stubbs, 83, added: “I thought the little goats were lovely – absolutely beautiful.”

The goats were brought to the New Deanery residence from their home at Blackwater Alpacas and Pygmy Goats in Braintree, Essex.

Julia Clinton, chief executive, said: “Our residents and team loved the chance to cuddle the goats.

“They were so gentle and friendly. It really brought some Christmas joy.”
