These adorable pictures show a rare five-day-old Golden Guernsey goat kid.

The tiny male kid was pictured at Almond Valley Heritage Centre, in West Lothian, Scotland with mom Ellie, aged two, getting into the festive spirit with some Christmas gifts.

Golden Guernsey’s are a rare breed of dairy goat from Guernsey in the Channel Islands, where it has been known for nearly two hundred years.

But they are now classed as at risk by the Rare Breed Survival Trust.

Staff at the wildlife center said the cute kid is yet to be named and will likely be decided by a public vote.

He weighs just 1kg and is feeding off milk from mom Ellie – who produces four to five pints of milk a day.

“The kid arrived on Saturday and is doing well,"said farm manager Craig Holmes, 33.

“He is really small, only weighs around 1kg, and sleeps a lot just now.

“But give it a few weeks and he’ll be causing chaos.

“He is settling in really well and starting to become playful with the herd already.

“It’s a rare breed and classed as at risk from extinction by the Rare Breed Survival Trust which means there is only between three and 500 breeding female left in the world.

“They were nearly wiped out during WWII when livestock on Guernsey was slaughtered during the German occupation.

“We have two adults girls and two adult boys already so this new kid will take our numbers up to five.”
