A young athlete has mastered the unique sport of extreme pogo - or Xpogo - and performs incredible stunts including a front flip ….. down a flight of 17 STAIRS.

Henry Cabelus, 22, learned to pogo when he was seven, but it wasn’t until he was 12- years-old when he got his first high-powered stick and began to learn tricks.

He began pushing it to the next level at 16 and practiced religiously to test the limits.

This video shows the maneuvers Henry has performed so far, including a front flip down a flight of 17 stairs, which he claims to be a record.

Henry, from Burlington, Vermont, is a full time professional pogo sticker, who performs with the Xpogo Stunt team.

“The pogo community like to call these videos ‘street clips’," he said.

“Similar to street skateboarding or BMX videos, we like to see what tricks can get done in our day to day environment.

“It’s hard to be satisfied with a clip unless you had to overcome fear or some sort of new physical challenge."

Henry has suffered several injuries while performing the stunts, but he's determined to improve his skills.

“When it comes to danger there’s the obvious broken arms and legs, but my main concern is always the slip out.

“We only have one point of contact on the ground and it is not very much surface area.

"If you land at an angle that’s too severe, the result is a rapid slip out, where your head gets whipped onto the ground. It’s pretty much a guaranteed concussion.

“From pogo sticking I’ve had my fair share of concussions as well as five broken bones.

“A lot of these videos are the largest amplitude of maneuvers I’ve ever done. That kind of just means it’s the biggest I’ve sent it so far. Although, I still would like to take it further.”
