This is the miracle baby who weighed just more than a tin of tomatoes when he was born four months premature.

Tiny tot Rory Byers has survived a string of life-threatening conditions after he was born at a remarkable 24 weeks - and is now looking ahead to his first birthday in June.

Mum Kimberly, 33, gave birth to Rory by emergency C-section last June after her waters broke at just 24 weeks.

She and husband Glenn, 34, said that it's been "quite a journey" for Rory - who weighed just over one pound at birth.

The tot has battled through a bowel infection, 14 blood transfusions and the antibiotic-resistant MRSA bug.

But Rory, who has a three-year-old brother called Zak, powered through and recently turned six months - to his parents' joy.

Kimberly, from St Neots, Cambs, said: "He is such an inspiration – it's been quite a journey.

“We have watched him almost die several times.”
