Britain’s fittest retiree is still performing flipping amazing stunts on the trampoline at 90-year-olds.

Retired war hero Tony Geraghty took up bouncing as a hobby in 1992 when he retired from the military after more than 40 years of active service.

Since then Tony, who joined the Parachute Regiment in the 1950s and served in the Suez Crisis as well as the first Gulf War, goes trampoling twice a week at his local club.

Despite turning 90 on January 13, Tony, who has two grandchildren, says he has no plans to slow down his active lifestyle.

Tony, who lives in Hope-in-Dinmore, England, with his wife of 38-years, Gillian, 76, said: “I have enjoyed physical activity ever since I was a child.

“I survived the German blitz during the war in London in the 1940s.

“That, alongside being of the generation of believing in compulsory military service, made me aware of the need of keeping a good active life.

“After being active in the military, from working in the Suez Canal Crisis in the 1950s to the Gulf War in the 1990s, I thought I best do something to keep fit.

“I went along to a trampolining taster session about 30 years ago. As soon as I did a few jumps I was hooked.

“I love it. It helps me with my coordination and sense of balance – you tend to lose out of those as you get older.

“I took it up and have enjoyed doing it ever since. It is fun and good for you. I am happy to just bounce.

“I have not won any titles, or taken part in any national competitions, I just do it for the fun.

“My coaches are fantastic; they look after me. I used to be able to do somersaults front
and back without a harness.”

Tony, who completed 400 free-fall skydive jumps during his time in the military, also worked as a Sunday Times journalist before retiring.

He said: “When I retired I wanted to stay active.

“It is not just trampolining though; I still love going to the gym now and again and running.

“I won’t stop. I won’t slow down. My wife and family support me in going.

“After such a busy and active life, in the military, traveling the world and reporting, you need to keep going.”
