And awaaaaay...

Sgt. 1st Class Danny Hellman of the U.S. Army Parachute Team (USAPT) has time for a salute and a smile as he jumps from a military plane.

The daredevil was pictured leaping from a C-147A aircraft in Homestead, Florida on January 26, as USAPT conducted their annual certification cycle for the upcoming show season.

The parachute team, nicknamed the Golden Knights, is the demonstration and competition parachute team of the United States Army.

It consists of demonstration and competition parachutist teams, drawn from all branches of the force.

Spots on the Golden Knights team are highly competitive and candidates must show a skill and dedication far beyond the average skydiver in order to earn a place.
