A stray cat which struggled to find a home thanks to its grumpy glare has a family after rescuers reassured adopters it was just a "resting b***h face."

Cinder, aged two, was brought to The Michiana Humane Society off the streets as a stray - and quick gained a reputation thanks to her angry look.

It was putting off potential new owners, and she remained un-adopted for a number of weeks.

Carers soon realized her glower was all a facade - and she was actually loving and sweet, but had a naturally frowny face.

The Michiana Humane Society put a post on their Facebook page, as if it was written by Cinder, explaining that she's not grumpy, she just wants to be loved.

Thankfully, on January 27, after over two weeks in the shelter, Cinder was adopted and has now began her new life as a cherished family pet.

A spokesperson from Michiana Humane Society said: "Cinder was an absolute pleasure to have rescued - she really was a lovely cat.

"When she was brought into the shelter everyone was saying the same thing about how grumpy she looked, and we quickly realized that it was just her natural expression.

"Families started mentioning it when looking to adopt, so we thought we'd do a Facebook post as if we were Cinder to help her find a home.

"It seems to have done the trick as three days later she was adopted and we were so happy to see her find some where where she'll be truly loved."

She was found as a stray in Michigan Cit, Indiana on January 10.
