Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is pulling the plug on a franchise restaurant in Moscow - in the wake of the war in Ukraine.

Jamie, 46, is ''exiting'' the agreement for the 'Jamie's Italian' to operate using his name - near the Kremlin.

The Russia location is still listed on the Jamie's Italian website.

The branch is located in the historical center of Moscow near Red Square.

A spokesman for the Jamie Oliver Group said it is canceling the franchise agreement on Moscow's Jamie's Italian and a Jamie Oliver Cookery School.

She said: ''There are two affected sites in Russia, both in Moscow - a Jamie's Italian and a Jamie Oliver Cookery School.

''Both were operated under a franchise agreement ie not directly by us by a business called Ginza Project.

''As a result of developments in Ukraine, we are exiting that franchise agreement and both the Jamie's Italian and the Jamie Oliver Cookery School in Russia will cease trading.

''We will have no future involvement of any sort in this - but it is our understanding that Ginza will operate these two sites under a different brand going forward.''
