Bountiful collection of Boba Fett actor Jeremy Bulloch sold for over $191k

The estate of Star Wars 'Boba Fett' actor Jeremy Bulloch - including his own life-size toy and unseen Ewok footage - has been sold at auction for a staggering £155,000 ($191,164).

The collection of over 1,000 items also included co-star Carrie Fisher's autograph thanking him for "the nite of hot monkey love," which went for £2,000 ($2,466).

Bulloch played villainous Bounty Hunter Boba Fett in both "The Empire Strikes Back" (1980) and "Return Of The Jedi" (1983).

Despite being on screen for minutes the character has become one of the best-loved and most recognizable in the franchise.

The auction followed Bulloch's death at 75 in 2020 from complications relating to Parkinson's disease.

The collection has been amassed over the actor's lifetime of attending conventions and meeting excited fans.

One of the highlights included a lifesize Boba Fett statue that sold for £15,000 ($18,499).

The statue was created in the late 1990s and Bulloch actually spent several weeks modeling and being cast for the piece.

Just 500 were made and issued by a company called Rubies and were sent for display in restaurants and shops - but this one had been stored in Bulloch's attic for 30 years.

There was also unseen footage from Return of the Jedi showing an early Ewok test film, which went for £3,000 ($3,699).

Bulloch’s half-brother was Star Wars producer Robert Watts and he shot the Ewok footage in November 1981 in North Carolina.

It is believed to be unseen "newly discovered" footage.

Watts gifted the two reels to Bulloch and they remained in his safe storage for many years.

A Boba Fett helmet given to Bulloch in the 1990s was also in the collection, that sold for £46,000 ($56,732).

Bulloch wore the helmet for interviews and videos taken in his home.

It was his go-to helmet for videos on his website and can be seen in dozens of interviews and photographs.

Auctioneer Andrew Stowe from East Bristol Auctions said: "'We had bids flying in from every corner of the globe - the love for Jeremy Bulloch and Star Wars was clear for all to see.

"There were so many bids, we actually had to run at half speed, making the auction a total of nine hours in length - but it was an unforgettable day, and a real honour to host such an amazing auction.

"Jeremy was known for his kind nature, and I really hope this sale did him proud. The whole collecting community came together today in his honour. It was very moving."

A portion of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to Parkinson's UK.

Maureen Bulloch, his wife, said: "During the 20 or so years that Jeremy attended conventions in relation to his role as Boba Fett from the Star Wars films, he acquired a large collection of memorabilia.

"He was also given items made by fans as well as a lot of artwork, some of it by well-known artists.

"Jeremy loved and appreciated every single item and proudly displayed them in his office.

"We, as his family, would now like to offer some of this memorabilia for fans to enjoy.

"May The Force Be With You.''
