This footage of two paramedics laughing hysterically as they try and explain their jobs has become a social media hit.

Dave Tamarro and Joe Cartwright are seen uncontrollable giggling in outtakes of a serious video intended for International Paramedics Day on July 8.

The pair, of East of England Ambulance Service, have become a social media sensation after the clips were posted on Facebook.

More than 20,000 people have watched the video, which sees Dave and Joe sniggering as they try to explain what they do at work.

In one moment, Joe says "I can't do it Dave" while laughing hysterically in yet another outtake.

Dave later commented that he was "glad to help people smile."

The paramedic wrote on Facebook: "Through all the challenges and heartbreak there’s always laughter to help you get through these days.

"So much positivity from all over the country and beyond - glad to help you smile."

The video has gained high praise for brightening up people's days.

Commenting on Facebook, Nicky Jenner said: "You made my day!!! So funny. Keep laughing guys, this world needs more people like you both!"

Nicky New added: "Omg that is brilliant cheered me up after a hard day at work! Thanks guys🤣🤣xxx"

Aneta Barham said: "I can't stop laughing! Thank you for putting smile on my face guys! 🤣"
