Men rescue stranded calf from foggy ravine

A group of brave young men put themselves in danger to rescue a calf stuck in a valley in western India’s Maharashtra.

The group of around ten young men hauled the distressed calf from a valley in the Malang Gad hill in the Thane district, with the video of the incident gaining traction online from July 5.

The valley was over 300 feet deep and completely shrouded with fog.

According to a report, the young cow had gotten stuck in the middle of the valley amid heavy rain and had been stuck there for three to four days.

The group risked their own safety to rescue the calf, standing on the edge of the valley overlooking where it had gotten stuck.

They tied a rope to a tree and pulled the animal out using the rope in a group effort.

Reportedly, some of the men came down to the area where the calf was stuck in order to tie the rope around the animal.

Visibility was a struggle because of the foggy weather, and so the rescue took an hour to complete.

When the calf was on safe ground, it tried to attack the youths out of fear and exhaustion.

It hadn’t eaten anything for several days but soon calmed down and was given food.

The rescued animal was later released into a human settlement in the Malang Gad area.
