Pup has birth defect that makes her look permanently surprised

Meet the dog who was born with a birth defect which makes her look permanently surprised - with some saying she looks like Scooby-Doo.

Belle, a doberman / cattlehound mix, was born with the muscles in her head stretched back, which leaves her looking shocked or surprised.

Lieschen O'Connor, 38, adopted Belle in 2017 from Lawrence Humane Society, an organization, that provides care for homeless and abused animals.

Belle's condition doesn't cause her any pain but Lieschen regularly needs to apply eye drops as they often get a little dry.

The dog's unique look has won her over 160,000 followers on TikTok with many commenting on Belle's distinct look.

One comment said "her expressions make my heart swell," while another read "She is the cutest dog on TikTok I love her so much."

Belle's owner posts videos of the dog with Scooby Doo music - with people online also saying she looks like the cartoon dog.

Lieschen, from Tyler, Kansas, posted one video with "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" music playing.

One viewer online said: ''Bro that’s Scooby''

Another said: ''Looks like a goofy but cute Scooby Doo."

Lieschen, a project manager in higher education, said: "She is gentle with other animals and great with kids.

"Belle is extremely sweet and a little goofy. If dogs could laugh, Belle would definitely laugh a lot!

"If people meet her in person, they usually comment that she is beautiful and has an expressive face.
