“WORKOUT WOES”

NEW RESEARCH SAYS EIGHT IN 10 AMERICANS HAVE MORE REASONS TO SKIP A WORKOUT NOW THAN THEY DID PRE-PANDEMIC.

THAT’S ACCORDING TO A SURVEY CONDUCTED BY ONE POLL ON BEHALF OF LES MILLS. THEY ASKED 2,000 ADULTS ABOUT THEIR EXERCISE ROUTINES AND GOALS.

RESULTS SHOW OVERALL, TWO IN THREE (67%) PUT OFF EXERCISE, WITH MILLENNIALS BEING THE MOST LIKELY TO DO SO 73%).

A MAJORITY (64%) OF GEN Z RESPONDENTS REPORTED A LACK OF TIME AS THE TOP REASON THEY PUT OFF EXERCISING AND NEARLY HALF (47%) OF GEN X’ERS AVOID IT BECAUSE THEY SIMPLY DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START.

WHEN ASKED WHAT AREAS OF FITNESS THEY’D LIKE TO FOCUS ON IMPROVING THIS YEAR, STRENGTH TRAINING (40%) AND CARDIOVASCULAR (26%) WERE TOP OF MIND.

TO HELP THEM FEEL MORE CONFIDENT AT THE GYM, TWO IN FIVE (43%) WOULD LIKE TO TAKE CLASSES WITH OTHERS OF A SIMILAR LEVEL.

ABOUT THE SAME NUMBER (39%) SAY HAVING ACCESS TO INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE EQUIPMENT AND WATCHING FITNESS VIDEOS AT HOME BEFORE HEADING TO THE GYM SERVE AS CONFIDENCE BOOSTERS.
