A pop-up salon offering Star Trek-inspired haircuts has opened in Brighton, England.

Fans of the show are being invited to a new hair salon in the coastal town - the home of the highest population of Klingon speakers - to get a trim inspired by their favorite character.

The shop, Short, Back & Enterprise, was created to mark Star Trek Day on September 8, and offers nothing but styles reminiscent of legendary characters including Spock, Christopher Pike, Captain Janeway and Seven of Nine.

It comes after research of 2,069 Trekkies, commissioned by Paramount+, found half-Vulcan Spock’s famous five-point ‘do’, styled by Vidal Sassoon, was the most iconic hairstyle from the sci-fi franchise, picking up 29 percent of the vote.

The lovely locks of Captain Janeway came in second with 15 percent, and Lieutenant Uhura was most popular with one in 10 respondents.

“We wanted to give something back to our fans this Star Trek Day," said a spokesperson from Paramount+.

“And with a quarter of Star Trek lovers admitting to having their hairstyle influenced by the Next Generation franchise alone, we thought the pop-up hair salon would be perfect.”

On September 8th, 1966, the show debuted for the first time on television with "The Man Trap," the pilot episode of "Star Trek: The Original Series."

On that day, creator Gene Roddenberry introduced audiences to a world that championed diversity, inclusion, acceptance, and hope.

And 56 years later, Paramount+ honors this important day and the franchise’s enduring legacy with the service’s third annual Star Trek Day celebration, providing fans with a memorable way to enjoy and celebrate all things Trek.
