This huge bear had to be sedated and dragged from underneath the decking of a home after it dug underneath the house looking to hibarnate.

It took FOUR members of the local parks and wildlife authority to pull the slumbering giant from its cozy retreat.

Footage from Durango, Colorado shows the surreal moment the huge mammal was removed.

Members of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife authority were seen using a mat to drag the bear along the ground - while others pulled its front legs.

One officer is heard saying that "this is the biggest bear" that they'd ever seen and joke by calling it "the beast."

In an official statement, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife authority said: "Bears start to look for a good place to den for the winter this time of year.

"Under the deck of a home in a residential Durango neighborhood is not a suitable den location.

"We responded today to a report of a bear under a deck at a home off Hermosa Ave., west of Needham Elementary.

"What we didn’t expect to find was one of the largest male bears we have ever seen in town.

"We estimated it to be at least 10 years old and to weigh as much as 400 pounds."

They then explained how the bear was tranquilized and given a health check ready for relocation into a safe environment after it was microchipped and tagged.
