Many older Americans struggle to afford their healthcare needs

MORE THAN A THIRD OF OLDER AMERICANS SAY THEY’RE WORRIED ABOUT AFFORDING THEIR MEDICATION IN THE FUTURE (34%).

THE SURVEY OF 2,000 SENIORS AGES 64 AND OLDER SHOWS SIMILARLY, ONE IN THREE (35%) HAVE CUT COSTS IN OTHER PLACES SO THEY CAN AFFORD THEIR HEALTHCARE NEEDS.

THE SURVEY, CONDUCTED BY ONEPOLL FOR CLEARMATCH MEDICARE, FOUND THAT THREE IN FOUR SENIORS STRUGGLE TO AFFORD CERTAIN ASPECTS OF THEIR HEALTHCARE AT LEAST SOME OF THE TIME.

NEARLY TWO IN FIVE (38%) AGREE THAT HEALTHCARE IS MORE EXPENSIVE NOW THAN THEY REMEMBER IT EVER BEING.

Survey methodology:This random double-opt-in survey of 2,000 American adults ages 64+ was commissioned by HealthPlanOne between October 21 and October 25, 2022. It was conducted by market research company OnePoll, whose team members are members of the Market Research Society and have corporate membership to the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR).
