A group of high school students surprised their history teacher - by crashing his wedding.

Kevin Mclintock, 31, was celebrating his big day on October 15, 2022 with his fiancé, Katie McClintock, 28, a therapist, when a group of his students turned up at the ceremony to surprise him.

The high school teacher had told his students he'd "love to have them come to the reception" - if they were able to work out where it was being held.

Kevin said the students knew it was taking place in a public space but had to do the rest of the detective work themselves.

His class managed to figure out the couple were tying the knot at Mission Bay Park in San Diego, California after being given a hint on the location as a reward for doing well in an exam.

The big day clashed with their homecoming dance - so the pupils dressed up in their smartest outfits.

Fifteen of them headed to the park - to respectfully witness the couple exchange vows from a distance - before going on to their homecoming dance.

Kevin saw his students and thought it was "so sweet" - before deciding to run over to them for a hug and a picture.

And he said their actions at the ceremony were "very tasteful and respectful" and it was "a special moment."

"It was definitely special," said the teacher from San Diego.

"These kids know me. For them to know and care about me that much that was big for me.

"I didn’t realize the influence that I had with these kids.

"As a teacher it sometimes feels like a battle to get kids to work.

"But then being able to see the impact you've made in these kids' lives that they show up to something like this and be so respectful. I felt proud."

Kevin made sure to take some time out of the special ceremony to go and thank the students for making the effort.

"I remember I was getting ready to walk my parents down the aisle because it was sandy, and I didn’t want them to fall," he said.

"They were taking homecoming pictures there before coming to cheer us on.

"I ran over to the students and got a photo with them told them I loved them.

"Then I quickly ran back to the ceremony and they were crying and smiling."

Word spread fast about the students' kind actions, with many of them asked about it at their homecoming dance.

"Apparently everyone at the homecoming dance wanted to know about the wedding," Kevin said.

"They were also so hyped when I returned to school, and super-hyped that we got to talk about the wedding."

Despite the brief downpour of rain, Kevin said the whole day was "like a movie" and a "perfect day."
