MORE THAN TWO-THIRDS OF AMERICANS FIND THEMSELVES STAYING HOME MORE NOW THAN WHEN THE PANDEMIC STARTED.

WITH ALL THAT EXTRA TIME PEOPLE ARE PRIORITIZING YARD AND LAWN PROJECTS (36%) AS WELL AS KITCHEN (30%) AND LIVING ROOM (29%) TASKS.

THATā€™S ACCORDING TO A SURVEY OF 2,000 PEOPLE WITH A YARD OR LAWN CONDUCTED BY ONEPOLL AND TRUGREEN.

RESULTS ALSO SHOW EXTERNAL FACTORS SUCH AS INFLATION AND A LOOMING RECESSION ARE KEEPING PEOPLE AT HOME.

ANNUALLY, RESPONDENTS SPEND 42 HOURS MAINTAINING THEIR KITCHEN.

BUT THEY SPEND MORE THAN TWO WHOLE DAYS, OR 50 HOURS, MAINTAINING THEIR LAWNS EACH YEAR.

Survey methodology:

This random double-opt-in survey of 2,000 Americans with a yard/lawn was commissioned by TruGreen between October 21 and October 27, 2022. It was conducted by market research company OnePoll, whose team members are members of the Market Research Society and have corporate membership to the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR).
