One person was killed and four others were wounded after a shooting at a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans Sunday, authorities said.

A young girl, a woman and three men were among the victims, according to CNN. One of the wounded men was later pronounced dead, cops said.

The incident happened during the Krewe of Bacchus parade and is part of the city's lead-up to Mardi Gras festival.

Footage obtained by SWNS shows the aftermath as police blocked the scene on St. Charles Avenue and Terpsichore Street.

The New Orleans Police Department confirmed that one male had been arrested at the scene.

The parade is held every year on the Sunday before Mardia Gras and this year involved 32 floats and at least 1,600 crew members.
