A study reveals people should upgrade from ‘fast furniture’ by age 28

BY AGE 28, YOU SHOULD NO LONGER HAVE CHEAP FURNITURE IN YOUR HOME, ACCORDING TO NEW RESEARCH.

A SURVEY OF 2,000 AMERICANS BY AVOCADO GREEN MATTRESS LOOKED INTO “FAST FURNITURE” — INEXPENSIVE, MASS-PRODUCED AND DESIGNED TO BE REPLACED.

RESULTS SHOW OVER HALF OF RESPONDENTS (52%) OWN FAST FURNITURE ITEMS, BUT 47% ADMIT THEY JUDGE OTHERS WHO HAVE THEM.

FIFTY-EIGHT PERCENT HAVE PURCHASED FAST FURNITURE AS “STARTER” PIECES, AND 83% SAY THEY’RE MORE LIKELY TO THROW IT AWAY, RATHER THAN DONATE OR SELL IT.

Survey methodology:

This random double-opt-in survey of 2,000 general population Americans was commissioned by Avocado Green Mattress between Feb. 1 and Feb. 6, 2022. It was conducted by market research company OnePoll, whose team members are members of the Market Research Society and have corporate membership to the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR).
