The U.S. Army's fearsome marines have a new weapon - a darling English bulldog named Bruno.
Adorable pictures show U.S. Marine Corps Pvt. Bruno enjoying some leave time before taking up his role as mascot for America's elite fighting force.
Four-month-old Bruno is named after Maj. Gen. Bruno Hochmuth, who died in the Vietnam war, becoming the first and only Marine Corps division commander to be killed in any war.
Bruno will take up his post as the mascot for the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Western Recruiting Region.
Following graduation, the mascot is given ten days of leave before taking on the duties and responsibilities that are entrusted to them.
These cute pictures show Bruno as he toured San Diego's attractions, including being splashed by dolphins and relaxing by a swimming pool.
