Florida boy calls 911 because he wants to hug deputy

A young boy phoned 911 - because he wanted to hug a deputy.

Bodycam footage shows a deputy from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Florida responding to the 911 call.

But when Deputy Pracht arrived on the scene, he found out the real reason for the call. .

Deputy Pracht can heard saying: "Is this your home, is everything ok? We had a 911 call."

The boy's mother, who was unaware her son had dialed 911, confirmed her son had made the call from his disconnected cell phone.

Doorbell footage shows the young boy racing through the door.

Deputy Pracht, after giving the young boy a hug, explained to him that 911 calls are "for when you are in trouble or if you need help."

Hillsborough County Sheriff's office said on Facebook: "Deputy Pracht shared a hug and took a moment to teach the importance of the emergency line while spreading love."
