This is the moment two bald eagles locked talons and spiraled wildly in the air - whilst hurtling towards the ocean.

Todd was whale watching off the coast of Owens Beach in Washington, with his family in January when he captured the amazing moment.

The video shows two bald eagles as they begin their "cartwheel display" by approaching each other in the air and instantly locking talons.

The birds of prey then start spinning uncontrollably towards the sea, only missing it by mere seconds before detaching from one another and flying.

The spectacle is completely natural for the bald eagle and happens when two birds are courting one another.
