Mega auction of iconic Hollywood props and costumes worth $13 million

A $13 million blockbuster auction will see iconic props and costumes going under the hammer.

The Propstore sale will feature items from TV and film titles including Star Wars, Sex and the City and Back to the Future II.

A standout lot is the Sandtrooper helmet from the iconic "Move Along" scene in Star Wars: A New Hope, which is estimated to sell for between £250k and £50k ($313k0 - $625k).

Ahead of the release of Gladiator II later this year, fans of Ridley Scott’s first film will have the chance to purchase Maximus' (Russell Crowe) arena helmet and mask, estimated between £100k and £200k ($125k- $250k).

A hand-painted artwork by celebrated artist Robert McGinnis from the 1971 James Bond classic Diamonds Are Forever is expected to fetch between £150k and £300k ($188k - $375k).

Stephen Lane, founder and CEO of Propstore, said: "Following our Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction in Los Angeles this August where Indiana Jones' hat achieved a record-breaking $630,000, we are delighted to announce our UK sale.

"This event will feature truly remarkable items from cinematic legends, including the exceptional Ray Harryhausen Collection, with lots from the animator’s private archive."

Propstore will be auctioning over 1,800 rare lots between 14-17 November, with the sale beginning at London's BAFTA in Piccadilly and with the last two days as online-only sessions.
