Hamster goes for joyride in mini Maserati

Larry the hamster has captured the hearts of millions after an unexpected joyride in a miniature sports car.

"Larry surprised us when he climbed into our RC Maserati sports car," his owner, Alyssa Chang, 21, a UC Berkeley student from Glendale, Calif., said.

"He loved his joy ride so much that we had to share it with the world," she said, noting her partner was involved in the process.

The moment, captured on video, quickly became a sensation. Posted on TikTok, the clip garnered over 2 million views almost overnight.

"His video now has 2.7 million views on TikTok," Alyssa shared. "His account has grown so much that he now has his own TikTok shop, YouTube, and Instagram under @larrythehammie."

The decision to name the hamster Larry came from a love of comedy and an appreciation for the human-like antics of the tiny rodent.

"We named our hamster after the famous actor and writer, Larry David, because we fell in love with the show 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,'" Alyssa explained.

"We thought that giving our pet hamster a human name would be humorous at first, but people from all across the world started using his name and commenting things such as, 'Larry has a better life than me!'"

Larry is more than just a pet — he’s become a symbol of joy and a reminder of how even the smallest moments can create the biggest smiles.

As one fan aptly put it, "Larry’s living the dream!"
