Infamous ‘Jerry Springer’ guest talks about her time on show

One of The Jerry Springer Show's most infamous guests has spoken out about the new Netflix documentary - and said it was "100% staged."

Jasmin St. Claire, 54, was filmed in four episodes of the notorious show - and took part in the documentary Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action which aired on January 7.

She claims her episode '300 sex acts with 300 men in a 24-hour period' in 1996 was 'the highest-rated' in the show's history.

Jasmin, a name synonymous with the adult entertainment industry, retired from porn in 2007. She now works as a professional wrestler, podcaster and actress.

“I definitely do not regret the Jerry Springer show in any form,” Jasmin, 54, of New York, shared.

“I had a great time, and it did help me quite a bit. It was a huge platform back then, and I don't think anything like that could ever be recreated.

"Jerry made me feel comfortable going on the show, and I think he made a lot of us feel comfortable. It helped springboard me into other things later in life.”

Jasmin's first appearance consisted of her confessing to her "boyfriend" - a man she just met - that she was going into the porn industry.

"It was 100% staged. A lot of the fights and reactions were staged. This was the ratings game, and that’s what it was all about.

"I would say my episode was probably one of the most real ones," she noted.

“It was an intimate, warm setting.

"The producer, Sheila [Rosenbaum], was very nice and held my hand through the process.

"I was nervous but excited. Jerry’s studio had this way of making you feel like you were part of something bigger.”

In Jasmin's second appearance, she returned as one of Jerry's sexiest guests.

Jasmin's third episode in 1996, where she revealed sleeping with 300 men in 24 hours for the The World's Biggest Gang Bang II porn movie, was an unforgettable moment, she said.

The episode put Jasmin on the map as one of Jerry’s most controversial guests, although she admitted the number of men was actually around 30.

“When you go out onto the stage, you have no problem talking to Jerry,” she recalled. “He's not the one that's berating you and trying to dehumanize you. That's the audience's job.

"The producers would always want you to sign a waiver — that type of waiver where they're exempt from many lawsuits if you get hurt.

"I didn't sign that, but I did sign an artist release form. I would never sign the waiver to exempt them from a lawsuit.

"If I got hurt by someone throwing a punch, I didn't want to put myself in that position.

“It's not like an improv class where those of your friends you're doing improv scenes with,” she explained. "You're improvising when you're up there and getting it packed. I expected that.

"If you look at the audience, what was it? It was the middle of the day. So they're probably really bored at home or unemployed.”

Despite the controversy surrounding the show’s authenticity, Jasmin praised Jerry Springer for his role as a host.

“Jerry looks like someone’s grandfather,” she said. “He was very soothing and made it easy to be on the show.”

For her appearances, she claimed she was given $250, a luxury hotel stay, and her flight.

The real perk for Jasmin was the exposure and work that followed.

The team behind the Netflix documentary approached Jasmin last year to participate in the doc.

“The people at Minnow Films were lovely,” she said. “I spent quite a bit of time with the producer, doing interviews and talking about what made Jerry special.

"Unfortunately, my footage was cut, but that’s okay. My stories from the show are out there, even if not archived properly.”

"The documentary hit on some of the points that were true," she added.

Reflecting on Springer’s legacy, Jasmin was unequivocal.

“There will never be another Jerry," she stated. "People on his show were their authentic selves. Although the scenarios may have been fake, the people were real.

"TikTok and YouTube personalities try to replicate that kind of shock value, but it’s not the same. Jerry Springer was the Howard Stern of TV — bold, visual, and unapologetically real.”

Since her days on Springer, Jasmin has transitioned into a variety of careers. She left the adult film industry for professional wrestling, becoming a manager for ECW Wrestling.

“I grew up watching wrestling,” she said. “The transition was easy for me, especially since wrestling was like taking a slam in a completely different way.”

Jasmin later dabbled in acting, trained at Meisner and Strasberg, and even formed an improv troupe.

Most recently, she launched the Crazy Train Podcast, which features wrestlers, comedians, and industry figures.

“I love the entertainment business and could never see myself doing anything else,” she said.
