Stranded NASA astronauts conduct first spacewalk together

NASA said International Space Station (ISS) astronaut Suni Williams was directly above London on her spacewalk on Thursday.

The current space station commander is tasked with performing critical maintenance on the 6.5-hour spacewalk.

ISS social media posted a clip of William's walk with the caption: "The station was orbiting above London, England, as the Canadarm2 robotic arm maneuvered Suni Williams to continue removing radio communications hardware."

Suni was joined by fellow NASA astronaut Butch Wilmore on the extravehicular activity. The two astronauts, who originally expected to spend just a week on the ISS after the Boeing Starliner's test flight in June 2024, are now set to remain in space until late March or early April 2025.

This marks Williams' tenth spacewalk overall, highlighting her extensive experience in space exploration.
