What’s it like to eat at the No. 1 restaurant in the world?

A woman who dined at the best restaurant in the world said it was an "edible masterpiece" - and spent €295 on 28 courses.

Giselle Chusan, 27, ate at Disfrutar, Barcelona - which was crowned the world's best restaurant by The World's 50 Best Restaurants, in January 2025.

She managed to get her way onto the year-long waiting list for a table and took her mom on a girls' trip to Barcelona.

Giselle ate 28 courses and had wine pairing - including 12 wines - which set them back €430 ($467).

The duo spent four hours in the restaurant and Giselle said it was a "phenomenal" experience.

They ate foie gras and corn tatin, multipescadito frito, deconstructed ceviche and steamed mushroom dumplings.

Giselle, a food content creator, from West Palm Beach, Florida, said: "It was the best dining experience I have ever had."

"You can take that with a grain of salt, but I am really not saying that.

"I have been to a number one rated restaurant before and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

"I was genuinely impressed whilst I was at Disfrutar, the staff make you feel at home.

"I would 100% recommend it if you can get yourself a reservation."

Giselle flew out to Barcelona in November 2024 and wanted to try Disfrutar. She wasn't able to get herself a reservation and was put on the waiting list.

Then in January 2025, she went back with her mom and was determined for them to get a table.

Giselle said: "I was in Barcelona in November, but I couldn't get myself a reservation.

"I was put on the waiting list, I then went to Madrid for the day, when they called me saying they had a table for lunch.

"I wasn't going to make it, so I said no to the table which gave me even more FOMO (fear of missing out).

"I ended up taking my mom to Barcelona, we went directly to the restaurant after we landed as that was the only time slot they had available."

Giselle and her mom spent four hours in the restaurant and had 28 courses - which included reimagined traditional Spanish dishes.

"From the moment you step in you feel warmly welcomed like part of the family," Giselle said.

"The entire experience has an omakase-style mystery to it, we had no clue what was coming until the dish appeared in front of us.

"Even the menu was a sheet filled with words hinting about the flavors we were about to experience.

Giselle spent €295 on 28 courses and €165 on the wine pairing.

She said it was a mind-blowing experience and has already booked to go back with her boyfriend in September.

Giselle said: "99.9% of the bites were mind-blowing.

"The dishes weren't just creative, they made you feel something and they were edible masterpieces.

"The guys running the show appreciate the community and the people, they love the art and they are offering something unique."
