This is the terrifying moment an avalanche came crashing down a mountain—engulfing skiers in a cloud of snow.

A man was riding a chairlift in Val Gardena, Italy, on March 19 when he captured the dramatic scene on camera.

The avalanche did not directly impact the main ski slope, but a powerful gust of snow reached a nearby chairlift.

The Dolomites region has been experiencing significant temperature fluctuations, which can affect snow stability.

The eyewitness said: "It happened because of the hot weather that day.

"We were scared and put down the bubble, but luckily, everyone survived without any injuries.

"The avalanche fell from 500 meters high, but by the time it reached us, it was only flying powder."

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
