Two United Kingdom supermarket giants have placed restrictions on the number of Dubai chocolate bars customers are able to buy.

The sweet treat, originally sold in Dubai under the name “Can’t Get Knafeh of It,” consisting of milk chocolate, pistachio spread and pastry kadayif, has taken TikTok by storm, with the number of posts under the hashtag '#DubaiChocolate' amounting to 334k.

A version manufactured by Lindt hit UK shelves in December 2024 due to overwhelming demand - selling for £10 per bar.

But on March 24, shoppers spotted a sign in Waitrose enforcing a “no more than two bars per person” rule.

Now, Lidl is set to start selling its own-brand version for a third of the price [£3.50 per bar] on March 29 - and the two-bar limit will also be enforced.

A spokesperson for the supermarket revealed its J.D. Gross Dubai Style Chocolate, sold exclusively on Lidl’s TikTok Shop, flew off the virtual shelves at 72 bars per minute.
