This is the incredible scene as nine million multicolored tulips burst into bloom at a beauty spot just five minutes from the King's Sandringham Estate.

The striking flowers are spread across 32 acres - the equivalent of 20 football pitches - to create an amazing sea of red, yellow and purple.

Some 31,000 people are set to visit the blooming fields starting April 24 for the next eleven days.

Planted in October last year, the tulips sit in Hillington, Norfolk - around three miles from the Sandringham Estate.

The tulips were planted by local farmer Mark Eves and organized by Norfolk Hospice Tapping House.

Tickets to visit the fields were priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children and have now sold out.

Chloe Garrett, marketing officer for Tapping House, said: "In our first year, we sold 5,000 tickets and last year we welcomed around 30,000 people.

"We simply couldn’t do this without the work and support of our volunteers, providing over 36,000 volunteer hours a year.

"This support is at the heart of our success."
