A chimpanzee became completely absorbed when a zoo visitor played "King Kong" on a mobile phone.

Tammy Layne, 54, captured the footage while visiting Wingham Wildlife Park in Kent with her partner.

The chimp, who had already watched a longer video of playful chimpanzees, appeared completely focused as the couple held up a phone showing the classic film "King Kong."

Tammy, from Ramsgate, Kent, said: "My partner held the phone up.

"We’d already shown him a longer video of chimpanzees playing and he really enjoyed that.

"This time it was King Kong, and he was very chilled, not scared at all. Just really focused and interested.

"There were people around too, and some were saying how lovely it was that we were spending time with him, and how much he was loving the TV."
