A British wildlife photographer has captured incredible images of giraffes with rainbows.

Paul Goldstein was guiding in Kenya's Mara conservancies when he spotted two colorful photo opportunities.

He also managed to include a talented safari guide colleague, Vivian Mako, in one of the pictures.

Paul, from Wimbledon, explains: "There is never a dull sky in the Mara conservancies, but in the space of a few minutes the billowing cumulus changed its mood into an angry, foreboding anvil nimbus and it bucketed down."

"The sun, astonishingly, was still peeping through the iron curtain. In a situation like that, as a photographer, you need a subject," says Paul, referring to the ideally placed giraffes.

He adds: "This image is all down to Vivian, my marvelous Masai guide's driving skills, as although Mara North Conservancy is probably the most beautiful in Africa, this particular area was very bumpy and, knowing the sun was about to be extinguished and time was critical, she somehow managed to pick a fall line through granite, termite mounds and concealed aardvark holes.

"Wildlife and photographs are all about moments, this one was short, and hard-earned but magnificent."
