This is the adorable moment a little boy hears clearly for the first time.

Colton Stapelberg, 18 months, has struggled with hearing problems since birth.

Last month, his mom Yolandie Stapelberg, 26, took him to the Ear Institute in Queenswood, South Africa, where he was fitted with hearing aids.

Wholesome footage captures the emotional moment Colton hears his mom’s voice clearly for the first time.

Yolandie said: "It was a joyful and grateful cry. I cried like a baby behind the screen.

"He was scared at first, but then he realized he could hear Mom’s voice.

"I think that’s when it clicked he could finally hear.

"I laughed out of happiness because his face said everything in that video.

"We were all very happy!"

Colton has had difficulty hearing since birth and his mom Yolandie also wears hearing aids as she is hard of hearing.

At first, Yolandie thought Colton could hear as he responded to loud noises.

But she started noticing signs of hearing loss when he struggled to hear during normal conversation, especially if the fan or TV was on.

Seeking answers, Yolandie turned to the Ear Institute - a hearing healthcare provider offering audiology services, hearing aids, and cochlear implants - for help.

She said: "Without them, we wouldn’t be here now.

"We were helpless and powerless.

"I am forever grateful to them!

"Without them, my little boy wouldn’t be able to hear.

"It makes my heart want to burst.

"He hears the gas kettle whistle for the first time, he hears Grandma’s phone ringing—then he shows us!

"It’s okay to be different. My little boy wears hearing aids, and that’s okay!"
