A ranch four times the size of New York City is on the market for $79.5m.

The Pathfinder Ranches is a sprawling 916,000-acre Wyoming cattle empire comprising 12 ranches under the unified ownership across four counties.

In addition to being four times the size of New York City, the ranch is larger than the state of Delaware, encompassing 1,431 square miles.

With numerous ranch houses, outbuildings, barns, and even a church in one unit, the ranch’s residential focal point and headquarters is The Great Pathfinder Lodge - with 6,579 sq ft of living space, nine bedrooms, and seven and a half bathrooms.

Nestled between the Ferris, Pedro and Green mountain ranges, the property also includes the Pathfinder Reservoir and 20 miles of the Sweetwater River.

Across the entire operation, there are approximately 3,400 cows, 180 bulls, more than 7,500 yearlings, and 130 saddle horses.

Ryan Lance, President of Pathfinder Ranches, said: “The sale of Pathfinder Ranches represents an unprecedented opportunity to own and operate one of few remaining large cattle operations in the American West.

"But more than that, Pathfinder represents a piece of our country’s pioneering spirit, productive and thoughtfully managed land, and a chance to make a real contribution to both modern ranching practices and conservation.”
