Say goodbye to your ugly Christmas sweater.

With the holiday season upon us, finding the right outfit (or outfits) for festive gatherings is a fabulous mission.

The holidays are an excuse to exaggerate with sequins and metallics, while adding pops of red or green.

Whether reuniting with family, friends or attending a work party, here are a few ideas to make a fashion statement this holiday season.

Red is a classic color that adds a touch of spice to the holidays. You’ll be holiday-ready with this chic outfit – a red turtleneck, a black faux-leather midi-skirt and knee-high boots. If you don’t want to go the bright-red route, toning it down to burgundy and maroon shades will still complete your look with a sophisticated flair.

Sequins are synonymous with cocktail party attire, and it’s perfect for ringing in the new year. Who says you can’t look like a shiny disco ball? I’m slightly obsessed with this sweaterdress embellished with gold and rose gold fireworks from Queen of Sparkles.

I’ve been casually sporting a faux fur leopard print coat during these cold New York City days,  and it has been the best addition to my closet this season. Does it give off Mob Wives vibes? Sure, but you'll feel glamorous wearing this staple.

An all-white outfit isn’t just for summer, it’s for winter, too. For an angelic, wintry look, pair cream-colored trousers with a chunky ivory sweater. Experimenting with jewelry – from gold, emeralds, sterling silver and pearls – can also give your monochromatic outfit that wow factor.

What is Christmas without plaid? We see it on ornaments, table decor, wrapping paper – and it looks even better as clothing. While not holiday-focused, I love seeing Alan Cumming incorporate plaid with a Scottish twist on “The Traitors” (can’t wait for season 4!). These outfits from season 2 live rent-free in my head. To hop on the plaid bandwagon, pair these Ralph Lauren plaid cropped pants with a black turtleneck, a black blazer, and these ankle booties
