A zoo has unveiled an adorable giant bear-and-cub sculpture made entirely from recycled Christmas trees.

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm’s popular festive tree recycling initiative is now in its sixth year.

To mark the initiative, the eye-catching artwork has been created to spotlight Andean bear conservation.

The Wraxall zoo has teamed up with St Peter’s Hospice, Weston Hospice and North Somerset Council to collect 4,000 real trees.

These will become enrichment, mulch and compost, benefiting elephants, spectacled bears, meerkats and more.

Larry Bush, director of Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm, said: “Each January, this campaign remains one of our favorite ways to begin the year – it’s a great initiative that benefits our animals, our local community, and the environment.

“Thanks to North Somerset Council and the incredible generosity of our visitors, we’re on track for our biggest and most impactful year yet with the recycling program.”

Members of the public can drop off their real and undressed Christmas trees until Jan. 25.
