The US military has unveiled a terrifying drone swarm that uses an AI brain to annihilate its targets.

In what is dubbed the "first kinetic drone strike on US soil", incredible scenes show a leader drone select a column of enemy tanks before they swoop with high-impact explosives.

The Department of War’s Research and Engineering section said: "On January 8, 2026, soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines came to Camp Blanding, Florida, to carry out a new mission for the first time. The first kinetic drone strike on US soil."

A jaw-dropping showcase sees inflatable tanks used as imitation targets, with the message "drone swarms and AI-enabled capabilities will be embedded into our entire fighting force. The Department of War will be AI-FIRST."

A military personnel voiceover explains: "Four drones are going to fly out about four kilometres. They're going to engage a three-tank convoy.

"So we were setting up the EFP pack in C4, making sure all the pre-flights were correct. This technology is phenomenal. The leader drone will identify what needs to be hit and then the three follower drones will then go in and attack.

"With the three-to-one concept, there's a leader drone as the brain and then it's got its three followers that you can use as your munitions to send."

Under Secretary of War Emil Michael said: "President Trump has mandated that we maintain global technological dominance through the widespread use of AI.

"American military AI dominance is not optional. It’s a mandate in the War Department."

The military personnel's voiceover adds: "It's such a technological leap that I mean it's like going from the Wright brothers to space in 60 years."
