IS THIS THE BEGINNING OF THE END FOR SENIOR LIVING FACILITIES?

A NEW SURVEY OF 2,000 AMERICANS WHO ARE GEN X AND YOUNGER WITH A LIVING PARENT FINDS FAMILIES ARE TWICE AS LIKELY TO BRING AGING RELATIVES INTO THEIR OWN HOMES THAN CONSIDER ASSISTED LIVING.

COMMISSIONED BY LEV-LANE, THE RESEARCH SHOWS NEARLY 4 IN 10 SAY MOVING MOM OR DAD IN IS THE MOST LIKELY OPTION, COMPARED TO JUST 19 PERCENT FOR ASSISTED LIVING AND 16 PERCENT FOR SENIOR OR MEMORY CARE.

THE STUDY, WHICH WAS CONDUCTED BY TALKER RESEARCH, ALSO FOUND HALF OF FAMILIES HAVEN’T EVEN HAD THE CONVERSATION YET, EVEN THOUGH SAFETY AND COST TOP THE LIST OF CONCERNS.

SO WHAT ABOUT YOU? WOULD YOU WELCOME AN AGING PARENT INTO YOUR HOME, OR LOOK ELSEWHERE? WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Research methodology:

Talker Research surveyed 2,000 Americans, Gen X or younger with a living parent who have access to the internet; the survey was commissioned by LevLane and administered and conducted online by Talker Research between Dec. 8 - Dec. 15, 2025. A link to the questionnaire can be found [here].
