Rare Japanese samurai armor is set to go under the hammer.

Items from Japan’s warrior culture will feature in The Brush and the Sword: Lacquer and Samurai Art auction.

Highlights include 18th-century Samurai armor from the Edo period, estimated at £30,000–£40,000, along with a helmet from the Momoyama period, late 16th–early 17th century.

The Dreweatts auction takes place on February 11 at Donnington Priory, Newbury.

The sale coincides with the Samurai exhibition at the British Museum, which runs until May 4.
