Police have begun reinvestigating the disappearance of a man who went missing 28 years ago.

Kenneth Jones was last seen at around 10:30 p.m on Nov. 2, 1998, in Ancrum Court, Glenrothes, Scotland - aged just 18.

His family reported him missing two days later, on Wednesday, Nov. 4, and haven't heard from him in the decades since.

Today, Police Scotland began conducting enquiries at Ancrum Court, Kenneth’s home address at the time of his disappearance.

Police are urging anyone with information about Kenneth, who would now be 46 years old, to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Jonathan Pleasance said: “Officers from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Teams are leading the re-investigation with the assistance of numerous resources, including divisional officers and expert witnesses.

“Our searches at Ancrum Court form part of our investigation as we work to find any new information that could assist our enquiries.

"We remain committed to establishing the full circumstances of what happened to Kenneth and we are keeping an open mind.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have any information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward.

“It’s essential we find out what happened to Kenneth to bring his family so much-needed closure.”

When reported missing in 1998, Kenneth was described as white, 6ft 2in tall, with short, dark-brown hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a black leather zip-up jacket, black jeans, and yellow and green trainers.

Anyone with information that could help our enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
