Dozens of dead jellyfish found near community pool
Once jellyfish washes up at shore, they cannot survive.
By Ottilie Von Henning
A massive jellyfish bloom washed up - enough to fill 16 wheelbarrows.
They appeared at Bude Sea Pool, in Cornwall leaving visitors and staff in awe.
The mix of moon jellyfish, barrel jellyfish and blue jellyfish covered the pool's concrete terrace and filled the shallows.
Unfortunately, once the jellyfish have washed up, they cannot survive, so it was up to the staff to remove them on Thursday, July 2.
Staff then filled a total 16 wheelbarrows and 40 garden baskets with the gelatinous creatures.
A spokesperson for Bude Sea Pool said: "It was one of the biggest jellyfish blooms we've ever seen in the pool.
"Thanks to the incredible efforts of our pool staff, the jellyfish were cleared quickly and safely, allowing visitors to enjoy the pool as normal."
