Study reveals exhausting reality of breastfeeding

JUST HOW MUCH TIME DO NEW MOMS SPEND FEEDING THEIR BABIES?

TRY THE EQUIVALENT OF 91 FULL DAYS A YEAR.

A NEW SURVEY OF 2,000 MOTHERS FROM MOMCOZY FOUND FEEDING TAKES UP MORE TIME THAN ALMOST ANY OTHER DAILY PARENTING RESPONSIBILITY.

DURING A BABY'S FIRST YEAR, THE AVERAGE MOM SPENDS THREE HOURS A DAY BREASTFEEDING – AND FOR SOME, IT'S MORE THAN FIVE HOURS.

THE STUDY, CONDUCTED BY TALKER RESEARCH, FOUND THREE IN FOUR MOMS DESCRIBE THEIR BREASTFEEDING JOURNEY AS EXHAUSTING, WITH MANY WISHING THEY'D HAD MORE HELP WITH OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AT HOME.

SO WHAT ABOUT YOU? WHAT PART OF THOSE EARLY PARENTING YEARS TOOK UP MORE TIME THAN YOU EVER EXPECTED?

Research methodology:

Talker Research surveyed 2,000 mothers who are currently breastfeeding or have within the past five years, who have access to the internet; the survey was commissioned by Momcozy and administered and conducted online by Talker Research between July 1 and July 9, 2026. A link to the questionnaire can be found here.
