Charizard Pokémon card that’s 1 of 141 known in world for sale

An ultra-rare Pokémon card is expected to fetch about £7,000 (nearly $10,000) at auction.

The Skyridge Charizard Holo card is one of only 141 known examples to exist in the world.

The highly collectible trading card features one of the most popular original Pokémon characters, Charizard, and was originally released in 2003.

It has been graded "5" by the Professional Sports Authenticator, or PSA, grading service meaning it's considered to be in "excellent" condition.

Ewbank's auctioneers estimate the card to sell for between £5,000 (more than $6,000) and £7,000 (nearly $10,000) when it goes up for auction on Sept. 4.

In the same auction, a rare set of 75 cards, in an official binder, is estimated to sell for up to £4,000 (more than $5,000) when they go up for online auction at Ewbank's in Surrey.

Ewbank's head of trading cards James Spooner said: "These are just the latest highlights in what remains a strong global collecting market currently valued at around $100 billion.

"We have been holding dedicated auctions for Pokémon, Magic The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! And other trading cards for several years now.

"People forget that Pokémon is the highest-grossing media franchise of all time — in 2026 alone, the company has already recorded annual revenue of over $3.5 billion.

"Even more impressive is that the value of Pokémon as a collecting field is greater than the value of the entire annual turnover of the global art market."
