TWO-THIRDS OF AMERICAN HOMEOWNERS SAY THEY'VE ALREADY LOST POWER AT LEAST ONCE THIS YEAR.

A NEW SURVEY OF 2,000 HOMEOWNERS FROM SUN-RUN FOUND THOSE WHO'VE EXPERIENCED AN OUTAGE IN 2026 HAVE HAD AN AVERAGE OF THREE, AND NEARLY THREE-QUARTERS ARE WORRIED ANOTHER IS COMING WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR.

THE STUDY, CONDUCTED BY TALKER RESEARCH, FOUND NEARLY HALF HAVE HAD A 'POWER OUTAGE REALITY CHECK' THAT MADE THEM REALIZE THEY WEREN'T PREPARED.

AND 41 PERCENT DON'T HAVE ANY OF THE EMERGENCY POWER OPTIONS INCLUDED IN THE SURVEY.

SO... HOW PREPARED IS YOUR HOME FOR THE NEXT POWER OUTAGE?

Research methodology:

Talker Research surveyed 2,000 homeowners who have access to the internet; the survey was commissioned by Sunrun and administered and conducted online by Talker Research between Aug. 18-24, 2026. A link to the questionnaire can be found here.
