Devastating winds and high water, caused by Hurricane Ian, washed away sea defenses and flooded the beachfront properties.
The birds were stored in the bathroom for two days, with two employees keeping an eye on them.
"Waters continue to rise. Streets are impassible all around me."
Many places in Florida saw severe flooding, sweeping away cars and structures and washing out roads.
"Some streets are dryer."
Footage shows one home completely flooded and in darkness due to the widespread blackouts.
