A garden-loving man could be raking it in soon after attracting more than 25 million TikTok fans with his tips on TERRARIUMS.

Ben Newell, 30, started making the mini-gardening versions of aquariums to pass the time during lockdown.

Last year he started filming his creepy crawly creations on TikTok and was stunned to see his videos attract more than 25 million views worldwide.

Incredibly, one of his most popular videos is just six seconds long and shows bugs devouring a slice of cucumber inside one of his bottled gardens.

Green-fingered Ben, who also runs an online terrarium shop in his spare time, said: "I used to be a gardener and I love things all horticultural.

"I got into bonsai for a while and then got interested in terrariums. I love the fact that you can grow quite unusual plants and moss quite easily in a jar at home.

"During the first lockdown the online business really suffered so I started making little videos on my phone showing how I make them.

"I posted them on TikTok and they got a lot of attention. In one I slice up some cucumber and put it in one of the jars and it attracted more than 22 million views.

"When I went to bed after uploading it, it was already on 250,000 and then when I woke up it had 5 million.

"I put 'watch what happens when you put a slice of cucumber in a terrarium' so people have a reason to watch the video to the end.

"As the video goes on more strange-looking creatures come crawling out.

"Ninety-nine percent of the comments have been very positive, a few people have been freaked out.

"But I think it is quite a curious thing to watch."

The craze of growing the tiny jungles in glass bottles and jars has swept the globe, especially during the pandemic when people were stuck at home.

Ben now posts a new video every day which he films at his home in Worcester, England.

He added: "At the start of the year, I made it a priority to put more TikTok content out.

"I did a lot of studying about how to make engaging short-form videos and I think it just worked on this occasion. It's just exploded.

"Since the videos have gone viral I've had a lot of orders come through so I am a bit overwhelmed with that.

"I'm even having to decline orders from the USA and around the world.

"The reaction to the videos has been amazing and I've reached the threshold where I qualify to join TikTok's Creator Fund where I can make money from the videos.

"I haven't received any money yet because it all depends on several factors but I would love to do it full time eventually."

Some top creators reported earn "between two and four cents per 1,000 views" for their TikTok videos.

Unmarried Ben attracts around 250,000 views per video on his TikTok page and also runs a successful Instagram page which has racked up 3million views.
